Your health cupboard is full. So why do you still feel like this?
Picture this. You’re out on a boat, and you notice water coming in. The boat is sinking, and you have a few minutes to grab what you can. Around you: a liferaft, water, food, oars, a blanket, sunglasses and a good book.
You’d never grab the book first. Liferaft, water, food. Obviously.
With our health, though, we do it all the time.
Look in your bathroom cupboard. How many bottles in there are “the book”? The magnesium, the collagen, the adrenal blend, the powder a friend swore by. Maybe a sleep tracker, a red-light mask or a new diet every few months. None of it is bad. But if the boat is still taking on water, it’s comfort items while you sink.
When clients come to me saying “I’ve tried everything,” they usually have. They’ve been bailing out water with a teacup and never patched the hole.
So what is the liferaft? In Ayurveda, health has always been built foundation-first:
-
Digestion (Agni). If you can’t break down and absorb your food, nothing else you take will work as it should.
-
Clearing (Āma). The build-up of half-digested waste that clogs the gut, lymph and liver.
-
Rhythm. Sleep, meal timing and daily routine (Dinacharya).
Only once those are in place do the herbs, supplements and fine-tuning really pay off.
Before you add anything new, ask yourself two questions:
-
How big a difference will this make for me?
-
What am I not doing because I’m doing this instead?
A supplement is usually the sunglasses. Resetting your digestion and clearing what’s built up is the liferaft.
That’s what the 28-Day Detox is: getting in the liferaft first, so everything else you do finally works
To your great health, Jo
P.S. On Thursday, I’m sharing Kylee’s story. She’d been told detoxing meant starving. Keep an eye out for it.
