Rice flake Porridge
The Alternative to Oats.
I went on the hunt for an easy on the stomach alternative that would still fill the porridge void. Enter rice flakes! I haven’t come across many recipes which include these lovely morsels but they are so warming and simple. This recipe brings together some delicious textures for your morning breakfast!
Helpful Tips
Rice flake Porridge is to soak them over night to get a more porridge consistency. As well as speed up the cooking time.
Rice Flake Porridge Recipe
Ingredients
- 1/2 Cup Rice FlakesÂ
- 1/4 – 1/2 Cup Almond MilkÂ
- 1/2 tbsp Raisins / SultanasÂ
- 5 (soaked and chopped) AlmondsÂ
- 1/4 tsp Cardamom powder
- 1/2 tsp CinnamonÂ
- 1/2 tsp Fennel powder
- Ghee
- 1/2 tbsp Rapadura Sugar
Method
- First soak rice flakes in 1 cup of water for few minutes.
- Heat the sauce pan and add ghee
- Let it melt, throw the excess water from the rice lakes and add it to the pan.
- Toast it for 2 minutes.
- Add almond milk, cardamom, cinnamon, fennel powder and Rapadura sugar.
- Keep stirring, let it cook for 7-8 minutes and
- then add raisins and almonds.
- Serve warm
